Carvel Watson is a highly experienced historian, producer, and director who founded Studio II Productions Inc., a community-based production company with over 35 years of experience in the film industry. Under his guidance, the company created a series of 12 video documentaries titled "This Week in African-American History", including "The Richard Allen Story", which was his favorite. Other documentaries covered topics such as the African contribution to world culture, the Songhai Empire in West Africa, and the role of African American soldiers in the Civil War. In addition, Watson has produced a documentary on the Black Family Reunion and paid tribute to Dr. Dorothy Height, founder of the Black Family Reunion nationwide summer festivals. He has also worked as an independent producer for Wybe TV, producing a documentary about bagpipes and conducting an interview with Haylee Geroma, who produced the major motion picture "Sankofa".
